Glory to God!

This is an appreciation post.

This week has been one of great honor to me and God Almighty. As I celebrated my birthday and second music album launch on Monday 8th November, 2021. The turn up and support was unimaginable.

Thank you so much for your show of love. Thank you for all your kind messages and prayers. I truly appreciate you all. May celebration never leave your dwellings in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for your support during the album launch. The songs from that album are Holy Spirit inspired songs which I receive while ministering in Daughters of Destiny Interdenominational fellowship and in the course of my ministration in other ministries. It is no wonder the many testimonies we have received from the first album “Jubilee +” and awesome testimonies we have also started receiving from this new album “Great and mighty God”. To God be all the glory.

Hello there,

Welcome to the concluding part of the series “Do you age shame yourself? I used to”.

I trust you have been able to learn a thing or two from this series.

It is possible that you have MULTIPLE GIFTS OR GRACE. The idea of focusing on one thing is good but remember that the man who was given 5 talents brought 5 more, the one that was given 2 talents brought 2 more. You and I are expected to deliver according to the capacity we are given.

If you have MULTIPLE gifts one can be YOUR DOMINANT operational gift but groom the others also. They do not all have to be highly successful but do not neglect them.
A river went out of Eden and parted into four heads. “A river flowed from the land of Eden, watering the garden and then dividing into four branches”. Genesis 2:10.

I released my first Musical album called Jubilee+ because I did it when I was 51 years old. If i did it at 51, nothing should stop you too.

I pray for all those who are LATE STARTERS in life that you will fulfill and manifest ALL YOUR GOD ORDAINED VISIONS AND CALLINGS IN JESUS NAME.

It is my pleasure to invite you to the long awaited launch of my second album in celebration of my 56th birthday tomorrow Monday 8th November at the Daughters of Destiny Fellowship, Model center.

Date: Monday 8th November, 2021

Venue: Phoenix Events Centre.

Time : 9:00 am

DO YOU AGE SHAME YOURSELF? I USED TO. Practical life tips on how to stop age shaming yourself.

Hello there!

Welcome to the continuation of our series. If you missed the first part, kindly click on the link below to read.

When the audio recording of my first album was done, I decided to do 2 videos from the 10 track album called Jubilee+.

The first video I did was “be lifted high. The second video is EMI MIMO meaning Holy Spirit directed by Toluci.

As I was preparing for the video shoot, I needed to pack some outfits and one major Ankara design was picked as part of the outfits I would use.

All of a sudden I got a flash back to something that happened about 9 years earlier. I used to run a chain of retail shops where I sold gift items and party favours in the Lekki Ajah area of Lagos Nigeria, one of my shops was in a shopping complex and a neighbour who had her shop close to mine walked up to me one day and said, “Mrs Jegede I had a dream and I saw you wearing a long ankara dress and you were singing like you were shooting or recording a music video”.

At that time I had just started the ministry of Daughters of Destiny which is an Intercessory ministry focused on prayers. So I said to her “do you mean you saw me praying”
She said NO I saw you singing. I was not very happy as I thought …me? video? ..what kind of dream is that?.

Remember this was 9 years before the album.
So here I was in my bedroom packing this ankara dress. “Haah! God you had spoken way before today”…so I went for the video shoot and the song Emi Mimo is so loved by everyone who has heard it.

Here are some practical life tips to help you overcome age shaming.
1. Do not let your age limit you or define you.
2. There are still realms of glory that you need to step on no matter your age.
3. It is likely that a lot of things will become possible for you now that you are older than when you were younger because it usually takes time to develop some capacity.

4. Age is in the mind and do not mind those who want to AGE SHAME you.
5. The older you grow the younger you should dress, do not stereotype yourself in your dressing. Be trendy but decent.
6. Engage with the younger generation and appreciate them.
7. If you are inspired to do something do not hold back because you think you are too old.

8. Be intentional. create happy moments for yourself, dance, laugh, love, forgive, live life awake.

Welcome back!

Yes, it’s been a long time away from here and I welcome you back to my blog space.

How have you been?

Well, today I am sharing a thought-provoking piece with. What a way to come back!

Are you age shaming yourself?

Age shaming is judging someone based on their age and discriminating against them. You could even be doing it to yourself unknowingly like I was.

For many years I used to receive songs from the HOLY SPIRIT while ministering in Daughters of Destiny Interdenominational fellowship, lyrics and tune without any effort to compose. We just used to sing it during worship time and that was it.
I thought to myself why will I start compiling an album at this age do I want to become a gospel artist when I am already in the prayer ministry and I am this old?

My darling husband encouraged me to always sing the songs before I minister anytime I need to preach in Daughters of Destiny (DOD) or on invitation elsewhere.
When I turned 50 years old I was invited to minister in a church in Katy TEXAS for a 5 days Prayer Conference. As was my practise I started singing my songs. From “Be Lifted high” to “Emi Mimo” (Holy Spirit), etc.

On the last day of the Conference the Church’s Music Director Ejike Igbozurike, unknown to me had recorded the songs and he told me to come to their studio for recording. “Recording what?” I exclaimed!!! We did the recording and he worked on worked on the song “Be lifted high” with his wife Motunrayo Igbozurike and I sang the lead parts.

As I was on my way to Maryland to catch up with my son I got a call from him saying he has sent the song to me via WhatsApp messenger. I was shocked at the clarity and excellence of the song, could that be my voice??? Me I am not a Gospel Artist oo, I am a Woman of Prayer, an Intercessor!!!

Right there in that plane the HOLY SPIRIT began to chastise me, He said to me “Busola you will account for every gift that God gave you. You started ministry from being in the choir now are you too big to sing”. Haaah! in that plane my heart broke to a thousand pieces. I felt so convicted of my sin of neglecting the gift of God in me.

As soon as I got back to Nigeria I started gathering all the songs from videos of my preaching where I received those songs under the unction of the HOLY SPIRIT .
The dilemma of being too old to do a music video or sing was still there but I pushed it aside as this was now a matter of obeying or disobeying the HOLY SPIRIT.

That was the beginning. The journey my first ALBUM called JUBILEE +
I was 51 years old when I launched my first music album and I tell you The Holy Spirit is just getting started.

You are specifically invited.

Join me as I yet again launch a second album in celebration of my 56th birthday at the Daughters of Destiny Fellowship, Model center.

When someone has been raped or sexually assaulted the damage done affects the person’s body, soul and spirit.

Often times even after removing the person physically from the assaulter,  victims suffer from trauma, emotional damage, suicidal thoughts and feeling of worthlessness.

Rape and abuse victims must deal with the issue as it affects their body, soul and spirit.

Removing the person physically  from risk, medical support for wounds sustained during assault ,ALL DEAL WITH THE BODY.

Counselling, therapy sessions and psychological and psychiatric intervention, THESE DEAL WITH THE SOUL .

The bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:16…Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two” He says shall become one flesh.

If you have been raped, sodomized or sexually assaulted, please go for counselling and TALK TO SOMEONE. DO NOT HIDE IT OR DENY IT HAPPENED. OPEN UP TO A COUNSELLOR.

Then embark on these prayer and fasting program for 3 days.

Confess: I forgive the person that assaulted me , Holy Spirit heal my heart in Jesus name.

1). Father Lord I thank you for preserving my life and saving me from harmful thoughts and actions that the devil put in my head in Jesus name.

2) I take authority over, bind and cast out every evil carry over,  evil transfers, evil deposits spiritually and physically in my life and body in Jesus  name.

3) Revelations 12:11…Says “We overcome by the blood of the lamb”.

Flush out of my body every foul spirit that gained entrance during sexual abuse, pornography, rape, or any bad encounter in Jesus name. (Repeat this prayer 3 times)

Every stranger in my life, sexual demons, foul spirits, suicidal spirits, spirit of heaviness,  spirit of depression, spirit of worthlessness, spirit of sodomy and every negative spirit, I BIND YOU ALL AND CAST YOU OUT OF MY LIFE IN JESUS NAME:

Repeat (CALL the name of the spirits one by one for example;

*Spirit of rape and sodomy OUT, OUT, OUT of my body and life in Jesus name and I send you back to hell in Jesus name

* spirit of suicide and depression…..OUT, OUT OUT,  of my body and life in Jesus name and I send you back to hell in Jesus name

**Spirit of worthlessness and depression OUT, OUT, OUT of my body and life in Jesus name and I send you back to hell in Jesus name

***Spirit of failure OUT, OUT, OUT of my body and life in Jesus name and I send you back to hell in Jesus name.

It is written in Revelations 12verse 11

(repeat 3 times)

I am free, for He whom the Son has set free is free indeed.

I will no longer be tormented in my mind in Jesus name.

Give God QUALITY THANKSGIVING and ask the Holy Spirit to heal your heart.

    acts of service 2

“One of the love languages in Gary Chapman’s book 5 love languages is ACT OF SERVICE.  This means you should be ready and able to serve your spouse, run errands for him or her and, get things done for your spouse without feeling used, abused or bitter……”

When you love someone, it is always a pleasure to do something for that person. Likewise, when you need  your spouse to do somethings for you, it should not be demanded with an entitlement mentality or with a slave/master attitude.

Ask nicely, and show appreciation when the job is done. It’s been our #silverjourney, (25years in marriage), and i cannot count the number of times or days that my hubby had to patiently and, sometimes in frustration zip up my dress when i am dressing up or undressing. He is always at my service even if it is not so convenient.

Acts of service for your spouse can help him or her to be able to catch up on his duties for instance if you notice that your spouse is under pressure at work or for time, offer to help in doing some duties that are lined up and getting delayed.

Examples of acts of service could be, picking up your spouses clothes from the dry cleaners’ , helping out with the laundry or cooking,  getting the car fixed or picking up groceries for the home.

Husbands should not  feel unconcerned or too “African” to help out around the home and wives should get into their husbands’s world to find out areas they can help out.

Be of service to your spouse today and always.

A blind spot is typically an area or subject about which one is uninformed. It is also used to describe the side that is slightly behind a driver’s field of vision that is not reflected in the vehicle’s rear view mirror.

Your blind spot is that  area of your life which could be a contrary habit,  character or action that you cannot see or perceive negatively.

We must realise that each and every one of us have a blind spot. Leaders, children, spouses or relatives may have blind spots. There is an African saying that whilst you can see the back of someone’s head,  yours can be seen by another person behind you.

How you react to the blind spot of your spouse is very important because the person cannot see what you are seeing. If not handled delicately, pointing out your spouses blind spot may be seen as criticism, nagging or complaining.

I suggest we prayerfully address the  BLIND SPOTS in our spouses so that the Holy Spirit can take control and intervene as we tactfully and lovingly bring our spouses to realise some unpleasant things in their lives so they can make amends.

Each person should also be humble enough to receive corrections in the spirit of love and progress.

A driver that does not take that extra glance backwards to see what is in his blind spot before swerving or changing lanes runs the risk of colliding with another vehicle.

May your marriages last in Jesus name.

One of the greatest elixir for any marriage that will endure is the ability to forgive again and again.

Probably I should say willingness to forgive endlessly  rather than ability because we ALL HAVE THE ABILITY TO FORGIVE  it is the willingness that eludes some of us. When we allow the HOLY SPIRIT to lift the burden of the hurt and pain from our heart we experience the soothing Balm of Gilead.

Offences will come in marriage at one time or another. Couples can hurt  each other’s feelings through words, actions and inactions.

There has to be a conscious and intentional decision by both spouses  to have UNENDING FORGIVENESS  so that the journey of the marriage is not truncated.

Opposite sometimes attract. So an introvert can be married to an extrovert. If you are married and you and your spouse differ in interests and in outlook, find a non threatening equilibrium.

Adjustments are needed in marriage. Bearing in mind that areas of adjustment may differ from couple to couple, the important thing is that when we learn to accommodate  our differences it will help our marriages.

I will like you to come along with me on this journey and look out for the next post.

I welcome you to our brand new year  and prophetic word for this year is GLOBAL IMPACT.

global impact

From Acts 1:8 KJV “But ye shall receive power; after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem , and in all Judaea, and in Samaria , and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

In your journey of faith, as you step into this year, may there be awesome manifestations of God’s glory upon your life, family and work in Jesu name.

2019 is pregnant with “MULTIPLE CONGRATULATIONS”. It is a year of repeats of success. The year promises to be one of REALIGNMENT back to destiny for those who  might have missed it.

RESTORATION is coming for those  who have suffered different kind of loses. WORD OF KNOWLEDGE – someone who has given up on life and accepted the lie of the devil and is ready to die, …..The Lord says there is hope fo for you.

In this year of GLOBAL IMPACT, we are to affect our world positively because we are the SALT OF THE EARTH. We must take the Gospel of our Lord Jesus beyond saving lives for the kingdom or Salvation (which is necessary) to fixing national problems or anomalies.

2019 is loaded with different realities for  different people no matter where you are in your life journey.

2019 is a year of CONVERGENCE- where past seeds, deeds and endeavours will come together to propel you for a lifting.

  • It is a year of ALIGNMENT

Strategies for this year must include your ability to “TAKE TOMORROW TODAY” –Forward looking, Forward thinking, Proactive spiritually and physically.

Remember the lessons that came your way intentionally or unintentionally in 2018. Reflect over your life in the past years.

  • Whatever were your greatest achievement? Focus on them more in 2019.
  • Who were those that impacted on you or inspired you? Align more with them in 2019.
  • What mistakes did you make in 2018, make sure it does not happen again.
  • Where did you fail in 2018? Purpose to work on your weakness.

In 2019, may you have unusual relevance, uncommon favours and divine lifting in Jesus name.

Welcome to October, our month of flourishing.

Psalm 92:12 “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon”

God has refreshed us from last month but, now we are flourishing!!! Hallelujah!!!

Psalm 92: 12-14 “… 12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green…”

This month, our feet will be planted in the house of the Lord and, as our feet are planted in His house, we will be refreshed and shall flourish in Jesus mighty name.

Our spouse, children, families, jobs, businesses, daughters of destiny will flourish in the name of Jesus.

I decree in this new month that  lines will fall for us in pleasant places in Jesus mighty name.

I prophesy into this month October and to our nation Nigeria, there will be no calamity, in the name of Jesus.

I prophesy in the name of Jesus, that as we round up with the last quarter of this year 2018, we will finish strong in the name of Jesus.

Season of Refreshing

Text: Act 3:19 (King James Version)  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Have you been hiding from God? Do a spiritual house cleaning so you can have a free heart and mind. Every time you see your selves hiding from God, It’s time to return to God for forgiveness and to receive a refreshing in your Spirit. You cannot receive from God when you continue to live in sin.

• Refreshing bring about new energy
• Refreshing brings about memory stimulation, fresh ideas come to you
• You are a beauty to behold when you are restored and refreshed.
• A fresh word from God is a blessing
• Refreshing brings about favour.
• Refreshing brings about intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Intimacy with God puts us at an advantage as the secret place of God is a place of power. You will have power over all challenging circumstances. Intimacy with God unlocks mysteries.

In the journey of life, we are beaten, tired and may get spent but, the times of refreshing will come from the presence of the Lord. In the presence e of the Lord there is fullness of Joy, there refreshing.

Brethren, I beseech you to go to the well of refreshing, go to the presence of the Lord and be refreshed for greater heights and a new beginning.

Lift in Purpose

Our prophetic word for the month of August  was Psalm 3:3  “For thou o Lord are a shield for me my Glory and the lifter of my head”.

It’s our season of divine cover and God is our shield.  Now, how is God our shield?

  • God is our shield, a form of protection, a defence against the fiery dart and arrows of the enemy. Our God will shield us from our enemies in the name of Jesus.
  • God’s shield can be a form of favour. Psalm 5:12. God’s favour will work for you and your families in Jesus name.
  • Deut. 33:29. Help is the capacity you need that may be in the hands of someone else. This help takes you from where you are to where you need to be. God will release help for us where we need it in the name of Jesus.
  • The Glory of God is the very presence of God. His Glory will rise upon our situation in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 60:1
  • Job 29:22 Things may be happening to people around you but there is a lifting up. This is the response of a believer. God will lift up our head against shame, debt, sickness and depression in the name of Jesus.

Lift in purpose.  The Key scripture is Jeremiah 1:5

  • You have a purpose on earth. God has brought you here to achieve purpose. There is something more inside of you.  Your life is more than what you think and do.
  • What is purpose? The purpose of something is the reason for which that thing exist. The purpose for your life is the goal , reason, desired result of what you have come to do by God. Before you were born, God has already given you a destiny mandate.  Your purpose is your assignment on earth. Jesus had a life description in Isaiah 9:6-7. Luke 2:34, Luke 1:13-17 are examples of the purpose of the saints.
  • They all had theirs written in the scriptures. Discovery God’s purpose for our life should be a paramount assignment and not for making money.  If you are making money and you have not discovered purpose , your are not yet fulfilled.
  • Align with people who are walking on the same purpose as you are. When you are walking in purpose everyday is fresh. It is about living a life of fulfilment.

Indicators of not walking in purpose.

  • Lack of fulfilment despite comfort
  • Restlessness
  • Lack of impact
  • Confusion
  • Going round in circles

Discovering God’s purpose should be a paramount assignment. And  if you have discovered purpose, walking in it and improving on your walk, living a life of purpose should be your goal. You were not created a man or a woman by mistake. There is a purpose for your gender and your being which had been predetermined by God.

Purpose Indicators are as follows:

  • Having a strong burden
  • Experiences (positive or negative experiences can ignite purpose)
  • Revelation in the place of prayers
  • Talents and gifts
  • Dreams of purpose being revealed

How to start on the lane of  purpose:

  • Discover your Purpose
  • Organise, Polish and Package your Purpose
  • Deploy it for mankind,
  • Go for TRAINING in line WITH your Purpose
  • Acquire Relevant SKILLS
  • Be Disciplined
  • Be Teachable
  • Be focused
  • Be matured
  • Improving your self
  • Preparation, spiritual, social, emotional, mental and intellectual maturity.
  • Position yourself by adding value to your life like new skills
  • Recognise potential, have the spirit of discernment
  • Do not sway under pressure.

Issues to note when pursuing your purpose

  • Your character can jeopardise your purpose
  • God can give you a purpose but, it is your responsibility to train yourself.
  • You may need a job to sustain your lifestyle, when living in purpose.
  • Have a balance in life, as purpose keeps you busy.
  • You may need a mentor for your life purpose.

lift in purposeAlways note that God is a progressive revealer of purpose.

Birthing  purpose may come with a lot of fears , worry, discouragement, disappointment  and uncertainty. This is just like when a baby is about to come out of the womb the mother experiences  pain and discomfort. For that purpose, calling or gifting in your life, you must guard it diligently to fruition and success, because that vision is an assignment from God.

Influence or Control

Any first class cabin passenger is certainly privileged. So many privileges in that part of the plane yet, there is a limit to the influence of this affluent passenger in the plane.

In the cockpit, the pilot is the boss, no matter who is on board except of course the plane has been hijacked!

Sometimes we are in a place where we are privileged and we are respected, close to authorities yet, we want to take over from the legitimate and rightful leader. Though leaders should not shun suggestions or ideas as well as frank opinions, it should be realised that no one should just use his or her privileged position as an excuse to take control.

In the cockpit, the pilot is the boss. When he says  buckle your seat belt, no one is exempted. Even if you are the director of 10 companies and you are on board the plane, you will obey the captain’s instructions.  Influence should not become control. #knowyourlimits.

Your first class ticket does not give you the right to tell the PILOT which button to press in the cockpit. #knowyourlimits- Busola Jegede

One of the deadliest enemy to our Christian walk is pride. It creeps in and takes root. Arrogance is the visible display or manifestation of pride. Nobody will ever own up and say ….you know what I think I am proud!!!! It is one of those things that we find difficult to admit. We legitimize and validate it with other terms….Extreme confidence, Self-Awareness, Selling myself or worse still say they are jealous of me.

What are the indicators of pride?

*Making “I Statements”…..rather say We did it.

*Feeling bad or reluctant to acknowledge the good thing that someone else did. Complimenting others does not reduce you.

*Being unthankful or ungrateful or having an entitlement mentality. When pride has crept in a person feels too big to say thank you. Be humble to thank people even your domestic staff when they serve you. It gives them a sense of self-worth and increases their productivity.

* When you feel offended when you are not acknowledged or your “title” is not acknowledged.

Rather focus on developing yourself as a goldfish has no

hiding place. When you are loaded people will seek you rather than you trying to announce yourself or force people to recognize you.

*When you feel you are superior to others due to an advantage you have…it could be your upbringing, education, financial status..etc. You are not superior grace just elevated you. So be overly humble and careful in how you treat people visibly beneath you.

* When you feel you cannot relate with people below your social status…..even Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors.

There can be Spiritual pride when you feel you know it ALL and refuse wise Godly counsel.

DO HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀

Being quick to blame someone else negatively impacts our relationships and can make us err with God especially when we wrongly accuse others even in our innermost minds. Have you ever being in a situation where you are missing something, could be your jewelry, money and instead of taking time to look for it, your mind is fixated on some one that you think must have stolen it. The thought begins to grow deeper in your mind and someone could even accuse the person suspected but events can later reveal that you misplaced the item 🤨 🤨 🤨. Imagine how one feels after wrongly accusing an innocent person.

Adam blamed the woman and said to the Lord “the woman you gave to me”. Gen 3v 12….the story has now changed from…”this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh” Gen 2 v 23

May we receive the grace to own up to our shortcomings and seek ways of improvement, this is the only attitude that can ensure our PERSONAL GROWTH and effective walk with God.

GENESIS 3: 12….Then the man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

When things go wrong there is always the tendency to look for the cause and typically blame someone for what has gone wrong.

God asked Adam a direct question. Did you eat the forbidden fruit but he answered by blaming his wife. Notice that at this time she was called WOMAN not EVE. She in turn blamed the devil.

Most times when we are caught on the wrong side or when we failed at something the tendency is to push the blame on somebody else. This is a weak human reaction and we must not quickly succumb to blaming other people for our mistakes or failure.

If you often blame 39010501_438179340025245_7064814867949027328_oothers for everything wrong rather than owning up to your shortcomings this can lead to ineffectiveness. People who easily shift blames on others become weak in analytical thinking as they quickly assume it’s another person’s fault rather than thoroughly investigate the matter.

Blaming others is a weak position as it shows lack of control. Rather accepting the fact that something has gone wrong and there is a need to look inwards to find out where one went wrong or could have made a better decision will ensure future success.

Blaming others is a sign of pride and self-defense or being defensive. When God questioned Adam and said “where are you” he should have answered rather he became defensive and tried to justify his hiding away. On further questioning by God in Gen 3 v 12, Adam blamed the woman forgetting that he had a choice he could have refused his wife’s suggestion. The woman too blamed the serpent.

2 Sam 6: 20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows [h]shamelessly uncovers himself!”

21 So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord.

When I did a short study on Michal I saw she had been good to David in the past even David fought for her to be brought back to him after her Father Saul gave her away to another man in 2 Sam 3:14.

Before getting to this defining moment in their relationship they must have had some good times.

Having a bad marriage can be likened to cancer it eats up every good thing around. Something must have gone wrong in their relationship that made Michal so bitter that she reserved a poisonous remark for someone coming to bless her and the household.

In the same vein David too must have been so bitter to utter such insults to his wife and her family.

I kind of imagine Michal FIRST LADY fully decked with the most on point make up yet FULL OF BITTERNESS ON THE INSIDE.

How many times do we sit well dressed beside our spouses in church; at functions and the silence is deafening and the atmosphere thick with strife. Through the make-up and powder OUR EMOTIONS SEEP THROUGH we lash out. Men and women, we are both guilty.

To avoid emotional outbursts like Michal and David we must DIFFUSE OUR TENSIONS.

In a healthy relationship we must be open with one another to discuss our feelings at appropriate times and settle.

Sometimes a party may not be forthcoming in discussing challenges and shuts the other partner up. This is not healthy. The more we can discuss our marital challenges and have periodic evaluations our marriages will make progress.

We must not bottle up our hurts or feelings because EMOTIONS CAN SEEP THROUGH OUR FACADE!!!

Psalm 90:12, “ So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom”

Habakkuk 3:2, “O Lord, I have heard your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy

Just like a football coach would rearrange, restrategise and readjust his team, when it is half-time, we must also look at ourselves especially at this season when half of the year is almost gone. The middle of the year is typically a time to TAKE STOCK, readjust, realign or fire-up in whatever one is doing.

In this month of AWESOME MANIFESTATIONS we must effectively deliver. Romans 8:19 is about getting results.

Romans 8:19, “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God”

One great tool that can help us in our journey towards excellence and effectiveness is  ” self-evaluation”.

In Daniel chapter 9 verses 1 and 2, Daniel looked through the books and realized that the period of captivity had lapsed and so began to pray. He did an evaluation of the state of Israel at the time of captivity, so he was better informed on what to pray about.

  • SELF EVALUATION is looking inwards with a view to identifying areas of weakness so we can receive strength from the Lord

2 Corinthians 12:9,  And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me

Whenever and wherever we find out we are falling short of God’s standard, we must ask God for grace in those areas as well as make efforts of self improvement, learning, preparation and adjustments where necessary.

Self-evaluation brings a great opportunity for growth within and without. It improves our quality of life and our relationships. The aim is not to condemn yourself but for you to become self-aware, improve and learn new things about yourself. It will help you to prevent your strength from being your weakness. Needless to say, personal growth is very important in our Christian walk.

Self-assessment helps in clarifying one’s identity, it is the process of examining one’s self in order to evaluate aspects that are important to one’s identity. You and I need to look back on our ways, our actions, our words and ask? Have I been walking in my right identity as a child of God? My words and thoughts have they portrayed my right identity as a dominion Christian or have I portrayed a wrong identity of A FEARFUL PERSON?.

Here are some vital questions you need to ask yourself:

  • Who am I ?
  • Why am I here?
  • Where am I from ?
  • What can I do?
  • Where am I going to?

Also let us check other areas of our lives and the standard of comparison should be the WORD OF GOD.

  • How am I doing as a Mother or Father?
  • How am I doing as a Husband or Wife?

Ephesians 5:22-29,  Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church”

  • How am I doing in my love walk?

Ephesians 5:2, And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

  • How am I doing in my service to God?
  • How am I doing in my prayer life?
  • How am I doing in studying the Word?
  • How am I doing with finances ?

For effective Self evaluation you must be honest with yourself; avoid making excuses for the weaknesses or failures you discover and you must be ready to make a change for the better.

May you have a better you emerging from day to day in Jesus name.

Image result for images of living prepared

Dearly Beloved

We give all glory to grace in the year ending and in times past.
2017 has been a year of great shakings for the world, nations, societies, and the church and even in our individual lives. I recall that a few years ago these shakings were predicted but we never imagined the magnitude will be so much and it is still ongoing.
We have seen major upsets in politics, nations, business and new powers emerging. In our lives we have seen the grace and mercy of God despite any expectations we may still have.
What should be our strategy or outlook in the coming year?
Clearly we are at the tipping point of a great move of God. Needless to say these are end times so:
God expects you to live ready. He expects you to live prepared. You aren’t meant to keep living your life just getting prepared. Martin Luther King Jr. was often quoted as saying, “it is better to live prepared than to get prepared, because most times when we are about getting prepared, it is too late”
Living prepared is recognizing and making use of your seed or stepping-stone opportunities very well. You see, it’s only by living prepared that you can recognize and take advantage of the harvest-opportunities.

I Thessalonians 5:2-4, “2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief”.

These indeed are the end times, recently Jerusalem was recognized by the United States as the capital of Israel and the Embassy is to be moved there. If you follow the predictions concerning the rapture, once the temple is rebuilt the rapture can happen at any time.
To live prepared for rapture:
–Live Holy; daily check your life
–Forgive and practice advanced and continuous forgiveness
Lay up treasures for yourself in Heaven. Mathew 6:19-20, 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal”.
give to the poor, the needy.
Win souls aggressively: Proverb 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise”
Join Evangelism groups and engaging in personal evangelism.

Hebrews 12:28 “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear”
Be ready to be sent by God and be willing to obey.
God will send you out of your comfort zone.
This is not the time for procrastination may you not miss your divine assignment in Jesus name.
Be ready to serve God with your time, talents, money and life. Nothing should be too big to give up for a BIG GOD that you serve. It should be here I am send me Lord.

Where you see a gap in your situation, provide leadership. Do not fold your hands and expect someone else to do it. Provide the right leadership in a confused, negative or uncertain situation. Notice that leadership here does not mean LIMELIGHT OR FAME.
Where you see injustice you provide leadership to the right direction.
Caleb and Joshua provided leadership to disgruntled and confused Israelites who saw the Canaanites as giants and themselves as grasshoppers in Numbers 14:6, “But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes”

2 Cor 9:8, “ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work”
You must be prepared to reap the benefits of your past labors in every area of your life.
If you have been faithful and diligent there comes a time when rewards begin to come. Do not be weary or faint. Step out and harness.
There are various stages in life and there is a stage of reward. There is a time you enter into your full-blown harvest.
Be prepared spiritually, materially, physically and financially.
Harvest in your business, marriage, work, and career

Jer 29: 11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”
Some of you perceive it already that promotion has come. The spirit of God is ministering great things to your heart concerning your life, business, work, career and ministry. Do not leave these things at the THOUGHT REALM, produce them, birth them, seek knowledge, and counsel to activate them.
Promotion may not just drop on your needs but will come as you advance based on the leading of the Holy Spirit. So in essence I am saying
 START THAT VISION you and your family with favor like a shield.
 STEP INTO HARVEST Hosea 6:11, “Also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed for you, when I return the captives of My people”
 STEP INTO REWARD Ruth 2:12, “The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge”
 STEP INTO NEW THINGS Isaiah 43:18-19, “ Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert”

2 Kings 3:9-26, 9 “So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, and they marched on that roundabout route seven days; and there was no water for the army, nor for the animals that followed them. 10 And the king of Israel said, “Alas! For the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

11 But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here that we may inquire of the Lord by him?”

So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

12 And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

13 Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.”

But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

14 And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. 15 But now bring me a musician.”

Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. 16 And he said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Make this valley full of ditches.’ 17 For thus says the Lord: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’ 18 And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord; He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand. 19 Also you shall attack every fortified city and every choice city, and shall cut down every good tree, and stop up every spring of water, and ruin every good piece of land with stones.”

20 Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.

21 And when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, all who were able to bear arms and older were gathered; and they stood at the border. 22 Then they rose up early in the morning, and the sun was shining on the water; and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood. 23 And they said, “This is blood; the kings have surely struck swords and have killed one another; now therefore, Moab, to the spoil!”

24 So when they came to the camp of Israel, Israel rose up and attacked the Moabites, so that they fled before them; and they entered their land, killing the Moabites. 25 Then they destroyed the cities, and each man threw a stone on every good piece of land and filled it; and they stopped up all the springs of water and cut down all the good trees. But they left the stones of Kir Haraseth intact. However the slingers surrounded and attacked it.

26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him seven hundred men who drew swords, to break through to the king of Edom, but they could not.

There was a situation of revolt against Jehoram the King of Israel and the King of Israel invited Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah. He also invited the King of Edom.

After seven days, the army of these three Kings ran into problems, there was no water.

The King of Judah asked for a Prophet and Elisha was mentioned.

The reputation of Elisha was that of service to his master. People are watching us, how we behave and this will lead to what they say about us.

Verse 12, “And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.”

Further testimony to the life of Elisha was that he was in tune with the Spirit of God. The word of God was with him.

Elisha was reluctant because the King was a Baal worshipper like his father Ahab, yet he still brought the mercy of God on the situation.

Elisha said “This is what the Lord says, ‘MAKE THIS VALLEY FULL OF DITCHES’…… will not see wind nor rain yet this valley will be filled with water and your cattle and your other animals will drink”.

This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord.

To begin to dig ditches when there was no sign of rain nor cloud nor wind was to step out in faith.

For them to dig ditches in the valley, they needed a team work of courageous and faith-driven people.

They started digging in anticipation, in hope, in faith. For you to see the miraculous happen in your life you must move from hearing the Lord, to speaking the Word and graduate to DOING OR ACTING ON THE WORD in faith.

It is at the point of unlikely instruction that the miraculous is triggered;

Naaman was told to wash in the Jordan.

Peter was told to let down the net after toiling all night.

Your OBEDIENCE is key to your breakthrough.

Your instruction holds the key to unlocking the padlock of your miracle.

  • Locate your WORD
  • Act on the WORD
  • Stay on it by faith
  • Confess positively when you are digging ditches
  • Discouragement may come, keep digging
  • Mocking may come, keep digging

You need strength of mind to dig.

You need strength of purpose to dig.

You need the right tool to dig.

Esther 4:1-8 , “When Mordecai learned all that had happened, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city. He cried out with a loud and bitter cry. He went as far as the front of the king’s gate, for no one might enter the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth. And in every province where the king’s command and decree arrived, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

So Esther’s maids and eunuchs came and told her, and the queen was deeply distressed. Then she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and take his sackcloth away from him, but he would not accept them. Then Esther called Hatach, one of the king’s eunuchs whom he had appointed to attend her, and she gave him a command concerning Mordecai, to learn what and why this was.So Hatach went out to Mordecai in the city square that was in front of the king’s gate. And Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay into the king’s treasuries to destroy the Jews. He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her people.”

Here we see Queen Esther having a little unrest due to an embarrassing situation or a scene being caused by her Uncle at the Palace gate. Mordecai had been crying round the city bitterly and eventually got to the gate of the Palace. She sent clothes to her uncle but he refused.

Hear me beloved, until you step up to the level God expects of you, nothing will be good enough.

Esther thought clothes could pacify Mordecai. This was a deeper issue beyond clothing.

Someone here, you have a deeper calling than what you are presently doing. God has a higher expectation than what you are producing because God has invested so much in you.

Then Esther sent Hatach to find out what was wrong with uncle Mordecai. The message from Mordecai captured in Esther 4:8 says “He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her people.”

It was a huge task for Esther. Go before the King? When you are not called? She sent a reply back to her uncle that the request was a mission impossible.

I must warn you that for you to step up, it will not look easy but you must be courageous, grace is upon you and God will back you up.

But Mordecai made her to realize that;

“You are more than this”

“You are more than just a pretty face”.

“Esther you are more than just a regal Queen”.

–Esther you are more than just a good wife.

–Esther you are more than just a good cook.

Mordecai was screaming spiritually;

“Esther you are MORE THAN THIS, you are more than your exterior, you are an influencer”.

What if the destinies of a whole people, a group & nations rested on your shoulders? Your decisions, actions/inactions will affect generations. Your yes will set thousands free; your rising will lift millions; your stepping out will feed hundreds.

Esther you are more than a pretty face – you are a deliverer of your people with the influence you carry. Your decision affects destinies of many. ESTHER YOU ARE MORE THAN THIS.

I am prophesying to someone right here, right now that you are more than what we can see in you right now.

–You are more than a good face, a good voice, a teacher.

–Locked up inside you is greatness, push it out.

In verse 13, Mordecai did not mince words to let Esther know that for everyone assigned for a purpose, God always has a PLAN B, a backup person. May we not miss our destiny in Jesus name.

In verse 15 Esther had to face her fears – “Go gather all the Jews to fast for me”. So if you are confused, push in prayers. Something in you must come out.

Who am I speaking to right now?, Go gather what you need to gather because you must step up and step out.

–Go gather your thoughts

–Go gather more knowledge

–Go gather more strength

–Go gather more of the word of faith.

Because you are more than this. Whatever you need to push out that which is buried within you, go gather.

For greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world. The greater one in you must cause your life to be better than what it is now.

Remember it is GRACE that makes a man, Apostle Paul said, “I AM WHAT I AM by the grace of God”. Grace is upon you to step out and step up. YOU ARE MORE THAN THIS.

No matter what you seem to have achieved God is able to give you much more.

In Esther 5 strategy was released. Esther put on her royal apparel. She stood where she feared to stand. Get over your limiting beliefs, God is able to give you much more than this.

–To soothe, console or reassure, bring cheer to.

For the Lord has comforted His people,
And will have mercy on His afflicted.”

–Over that rebellious child God can comfort you.

  • The comfort of God can bring restoration and a divine turn around.

Isaiah 51:3,

Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.”

I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will also lead him,and restore comforts to himand to his mourners.”

  • Comfort is what we receive in times of mourning or difficulty that enables us to carry on with the work.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

  • Comfort can be a reward –Luke 16:25, “But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.”

JOHN 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you”

Acts 9: 31,  Then the churches[a] throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied”

  • The word of God comforts. Romans 15:4, “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
  • Comfort is one prerequisite of a genuine prophecy

1 Cor 14:3, “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men”

Prophecy should bring comfort-1Cor 14:31, “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.”

  • When people refuse to be comforted they can make mistakes

Who are those that need the comfort of God?

–Those who are mourning

–Those who are waiting

–Those who have lost someone or something

–Those who are afflicted

God is a PROGRESSIVE GOD and His blessings on our lives makes one to make progress in life.
Even where we put in all our efforts 1 Cor 3:6-7
“I planted, Apollos watered but God gave the increase so it is”
-God is the supreme enabler of progress because promotion comes from Him – Psalm 75:6. “For exaltation comes neither from the east
Nor from the west nor from the south.”

To increase in stature
Man is a tripartite being
Spirit is increased by prayer Isaiah 40:31, <em>“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Soul is increased by information.
Body by exercise and eating right.
To increase, progress in favour with God.
Be born again and belong to the family of God
Palm 106:4
To increase in favour with man—Do good to all men like Jesus in Acts 10:38, “ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
I call forth progress in our bodies, souls and spirit in Jesus name.

The Lime Tree Avenue at Clumber Park, the longest such avenue in Europe almost 2 miles long, planted in about 1840 by the 4th Duke

Isaiah 40:31  says: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.

Now when you look at the second part of the scripture above, it sounds like a contradiction. When you RUN, you dissipate energy, you use up your strength and the tendency is that one is weakened or weary. When one walks also the human body may get tired or faint. But there is something about the Spirit of God in the life of a man which makes one defy common logic or common sense.

Job 14: 7-9 says “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant”.

It does not matter if you think your root is waxing old in the earth: Behold the scent of the waters is upon you. You  will spring forth in Jesus name.

FLOURISH means to prosper, thrive in growth, to  produce and develop.

When circumstances look bleak in the physical, you have to see beyond the dark clouds. You need to SEE and not just LOOK. God is about to do a new thing in your life. It is spring, it’s time to blossom, it’s time to flourish.

‘It’s not by power, it’s not by might, but by My Spirit’, says the Lord. Tap into the outpouring of God’s Spirit and you will see your life, vision, calling, family flourish.

For you to flourish, you need to arise, so you can shine. Arise out of rejection, failure, depression, pain and regrets. Step forward into the limelight of God’s Spirit and begin to shine unto favour, unto progress, and unto advancement. FLOURISH.

God is set to bring about a newness in your life.

The Contemporary English Version of Isaiah 43: 18-19 says

“ I am creating something new, there it is, do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands. There it is, there is something new out there but do you see it?”.

You may not see it in the physical but it will surely spring forth. I am challenging you to see with your eyes of faith what God is doing in your life.

The channel of vision is not limited to the human eyes only. What can you see in your heart, what do you see in your imagination, what is the picture of your dreams? Leonardo Da Vinci said the secret to his creative genius was his ability, ‘to know how to see’.

In Jeremiah 1:11, the Lord asked the Prophet in a vision,  “What do you see, Jeremiah?”

He answered, “A branch of almonds that ripen early.” (Jeremiah 1:11 CEV)

The Lord is asking you the same question. Do you see yourself flourishing?, Do you see yourself blossoming?

I am declaring into your life that it is spring and it’s time for you to flourish. Many of us are familiar with the spring season; it comes in after the long hard and cold winter, then you see the trees sprouting with new leaves, the flowers blossoming again, and the sunlight streaming in. It is always a refreshing season, a season you gladly welcome after the winter.

We must be able to see this newness, this springing forth, not only with our physical eyes, but with new eyes.

We must see with: the eyes of possibility, the eyes of faith, the eyes of love, the eyes that see beyond the obvious, the eyes that see through the heart of God, the eyes that see beyond the visible, the eyes that see what is higher than the highest mountain, the eyes that see the joy embedded in thick misery and sorrow, the eyes that see  new cities emerging from the ruins of a war torn nation and like Ephesians 1:18 says, we must see with the eyes of understanding which enables us to know our calling and purpose in life.

Today we must sharpen the eyes of our spirit which cannot be limited by time and space. How do you see yourself? I urge you to see yourself in the fullness of your potential, see yourself soaring high, higher than any limitation. See yourself as God has made you, fearfully and wonderfully, see yourself in the enabling and propelling power of the Glory of God which is risen upon you. See yourself unstoppable by the darkness in the land or the gross darkness upon the people, and see yourself being lifted by the hand of God as His glory is immensely visible upon your life.

Today I urge you to see the ‘WHO’ that you are; see  ‘WHY’ you are here; see ‘WHAT’  you are here to do. See the best in yourself and the possibilities of your potential.

The entrance of the Word of God brings light and understanding. WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Busola Jegede

Isaiah 43:19 says “God is set to do a new thing, it will spring forth.

To SPRING  means to rise, leap, move or act suddenly. To spring is to be suddenly released from  a coiled or constrained position. When a new thing is springing forth, it’s like a flower opening or blossoming in springtime.

Transform from within.

When a plant is springing forth, it starts from within the seed that was planted, then it pushes through the soil and springs forth. There is a transformation from within that seed. Your newness, your change, your strength, starts from within.

When you allow the Word of God to bear fruits in your spirit, when you change your thoughts to progressive thoughts and change your confession to align with the Word of God, there will be an outward manifestation of the inward transformation.

You must break free from depression, low self-esteem and other limitations of the enemy.

 STEP 2.

Move past your pain.

Have you tabernacled at the place of your pain?. In the book of Ruth we see two women who made it back to Israel after suffering losses in their lives. Naomi was able to help position Ruth for Boaz because Naomi MOVED PAST HER PAIN. The loss of her son, Ruth’s husband was  left behind and she embraced the future.

Actually  Naomi was also a hero of that story and not just Ruth, because she made it happen for Ruth.

Cast away negative garments.

Mark 10:50  “And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus”.  You need to cast away every cloak of limitation like Blind Bartimaeus did before he received his sight.  You must intentionally remove cloaks of fear, insecurity, self pity, low self-esteem and victim mentality so you can work out the vision that will make you blossom.

Find out and walk in your purpose.

A life of purpose will keep you busy and focused. It is interesting to note that Rebekah and Rachel at different times in their lives were at their places of assignment. Rebekah was out fetching water when Abraham’s servant who was on assignment to find a wife for Isaac, located her. Likewise, Rachel was out feeding and tending her father’s sheep when her suitor (Jacob) met her by the well.

Walk in purpose, take your pitcher on your shoulder and go get the water of life for a thirsty soul. What vision has God given you to keep and nurture?, keep it well.

God does not need a perfect status before he can use you.

Romans 8:1. “ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.  God used Kathryn Kulman greatly despite her marital status, infact it was when she allowed herself fall for the wrong man that things went very tough for her.

Release yourself to the work of God and walls of opposition against you will crumble.

Keep hope alive.

Prov 13:12 says: “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life”.

Psalm 31:24 also says “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord”.

You have the responsibility to keep the promises of God alive in your heart until they manifest.

Have a nice disposition to people.

Nice people attract others.  Proverbs 18:24 says “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother”.

What do people find in you?

Prov 18:22 says “Whoso FINDETH a wife FINDETH a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord”.

Prov 31:10 says “Who can FIND a virtuous woman….?

It is what you make of yourself that people will find in you.

STEP  8.

Engage in spiritual warfare regularly.

Isaiah 62: 6-7 says “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth”.

You must pray through and without ceasing for your life to blossom.

THE PASTOR/MINISTER’S WIFE (A must read for Pastors and their wives)

Women have a tremendous role to play in supporting the careers of their husbands. This is a very visible role that can be seen in most countries of the world; with every President, there is a First lady who is usually instantly in the limelight as soon as her husband assumes office.

The main discourse here is that of the Pastor/Minister’s Wife. Specifically, the focus is on how the Pastor or Minister relates to his wife privately and publicly. Some women who find themselves in this role probably did not or were not prepared for the demands of being a mother to many; a counsellor and a role model. Whilst many women have been thoroughly prepared for this role over time due to their spiritual maturity and training they received over the years, it is very important for the minister to take time to prepare his wife for the demands of the capacity that is required of her.

Usually, the demands of ministry are so enormous and the minister is so engrossed that he may unknowingly neglect being a husband and a father. The role of the Pastor or Minister’s Wife is an extremely important one. She is expected to be a supporter of her husband’s vision, she is to be his personal intercessor, a role model to the women and youths, a counsellor and an encourager. A minister’s wife is not to be noted just for POWER DRESSING. Though she should look nice, she should be a SPIRIT FILLED WOMAN. She must of necessity show the people care, visit them and attend to the needs of the church members as a major support of her husband’s ministry. Yet she must be a keeper at home, keeping the home front, attending to the children whilst her husband is busy in ministry. Yes, a woman is expected to be a supporter, intercessor, builder of the home and all you can think of but many Pastors/Ministers need to take the issue of nurturing their wives seriously so they can have their full support.

A Pastor/Minister must bring up his wife spiritually and teach her so she can be an asset to the ministry that he is building. If the Pastor or Minister is so vast in knowledge or deeply spiritual and the wife is a spiritual babe, it will create a lot of tension. If there is a spiritual disconnect, there is bound to be friction and there may be a need to bring in someone to assume the role of leadership especially for the women in the church.

It is also important for the Pastor/Minister to manage his relationship with female leaders or members of his church who are more spiritually mature than his wife. He must affirm his wife so that she does not feel insecure and help her develop confidence, otherwise she may be spiritually bullied or intimidated by some of these women who may go out of line.

The Pastor/Minister’s wife must of a necessity be respectful to people, older and younger than she is. She should believe in herself and not feel inferior or insecure. It is important that she does not misuse her privileged position or deal harshly with people.

If a Pastor/Minister is finding it difficult to teach his wife personally due to any reason(s), then he should prayerfully seek out a Female spiritual mentor and attach his wife to her. Titus 2:3-5, says “let the older women teach the younger ones”.

Another issue that Pastors or Ministers should bear in mind is the need to deal with their wives with patience just like they deal with their congregation. Do not be impatient with your wife, do not be uncaring towards your wife or show other women that you have a low opinion of your wife. Women are extremely territorial and any signal you give negatively about your wife will be used against her by other women in the church. Avoid making condescending statements about your wife while preaching. You must guard against careless statements about your wife, as people can read between the lines.

Once, a Pastor came to report his wife to me because she attended our Interdenominational Fellowship. He complained that she was not supportive of his call to start a church and that he is convinced that she probably is not born again in the first place. The picture he painted to me portrayed the woman as the devil, frustrating and limiting his call to ministry. So, I got the wife’s phone number and called her to see me because I did not know her personally due to the large number of women in our fellowship. When she came to see me I could see she was about 8 months pregnant, she looked gaunt, malnourished and unkempt.

When I inquired from her why she was not supporting her husband, she broke down and I could see that this woman was weary physically and emotionally. She narrated how they had tried to start ministry (church) once or twice before but it failed; the family had no income, she had a baby less than two years ago and the hospital bill had not been fully paid and here she was with another baby due and not one diaper had been bought in readiness for the baby’s arrival. Worse still, she did not know which hospital she would deliver in as she had not been registered anywhere yet.

So with all these ongoing, her husband would call her to lead praise and worship in the church he just started in their sitting room. She said sometimes she would be too tired and would refuse to come out of the bedroom while the “service” was going on.

Now how do you reconcile this?; a Pastor burning with zeal and vision yet very poor in managing his family. I had to call the Pastor back and counsel him and my specific words were, “Pastor, you are an Elijah or even John the Baptist but these men never got married. How can you expect a pregnant woman to fast and believe God for miraculous provision towards the delivery of her baby, considering that she’s 8 months pregnant. Her faith cannot carry the burden on her body, Sir”.

When I asked him about his plans for the baby he said, “ I am believing God for divine intervention”.

Clearly, this man did not think he should have made alternative arrangements to provide both antenatal and maternal care. He was expecting Manna from heaven, when he should have made definite moves to provide for his family: Faith without works is dead, James 2:14.

Though this may not be the case in your situation if you are a Pastor, you should deal with your wife as the Word of God says in 1 Peter 3:7. Honour her and make it a public honour, not just private.

If on the flipside, you are married to a woman who is demanding or likes to usurp authority, deeply intercede for her and counsel her or attach her to a Female spiritual mentor.

To the Pastor/Minister’s wife, who may be getting negative feedback concerning her character or personality, avoid the trap of being defensive or thinking no one has your back. Genuinely seek the help of the Holy Spirit to reveal to you your attitudinal weaknesses and challenges. Pray for grace to overcome them, make sincere moves to improve yourself, get rid of excesses in your life and walk in love.

To the Pastor/Minister’s wife out there, may God grace you to do all He has purposed for you to do and may your husband’s heart safely trust in you in Jesus name.

For every Pastor/Minister, remember that you are the Spiritual cover and Mentor for the whole Sheep under your care, including your wife. So, be patient, loving and intentionally protective of her. As you bring this honour on her, your marriage is protected and she will defend and support your vision.

The Story of the Widow of Zarephath and the Prophet in 1 kings 17:2-24 is a popular one. One remarkable lesson is that of Obedience on both the path of the Prophet to go to Zarephath and Obedience of the Widow to meet Elijah’s needs.

The brook dried up though the Prophet had been directed to the brook by the Spirit of God and the ravens had been feeding him. This is a pointer to the fact that we must be constantly listening to God’s voice as our instructions may change, though God never changes.

This year some of you need to be sensitive as your instructions will change. There may be people out there who are operating in dried up brooks, who are complaining that their Country is not working, though God told you to RELOCATE to said Country.

As many complaining that the business or vision God told them to start is no longer working, listen; the brook has dried up, you need to HEAR WHAT GOD is saying now.

When Elijah asked the widow for water she promptly obeyed and proceeded to get the water. As she was going the Prophet asked her to bring a piece of bread. At that point the widow objected and said she only had a little. The Prophet encouraged her to bring him some food first from her meagre resources.

If the widow had given just the water, it would have made the barrel of flour and cruze of oil to run dry. The larger your sacrifice, the larger your reward.

When Elijah got to Zarephath he met a widow who was gathering sticks to take home and make a meal for herself and her son so they may eat and die.

Typically, when we eat, the food is supposed to nourish our bodies and make us lively. But in the case of the Widow of Zarephath she was about to prepare her last meal before dying.

Infact she was gathering sticks, BUSY BUT NOT FRUITFUL, BUSY UNTO DESTRUCTION.

Are you in such a situation of toiling where though you are hardworking, yet you never expect a good outcome?, Are you gathering sticks to prepare a final meal? With Jesus, you EAT TO LIVE and NOT TO DIE. As John 6:57 declares, “As the Living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me”.

As you eat the LIVING WORD, THE BREAD OF LIFE you will live.

Exodus 23:29-30 (NLT)     But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. 30 I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land.

Many times in our journey to success, we may experience certain frustrations and we often wonder why. It is good to be motivated and to have a can-do spirit. Indeed the promises of God are sure and with God all things are possible.

There are times when we have done everything right and we believe God for certain things but those things just seem delayed or do not manifest at our time of expectation.

God’s words to the children of Israel in Exodus 23:29-30 confirms the fact that God’s promises are sure but HIS TIMING is very crucial.

The millions of Israelites marching through the wilderness for 40years would have wanted nothing more than God clearing their land for them and driving out the inhabitants so they can possess the land. But God said, “I WILL NOT DRIVE THEM OUT IN A SINGLE YEAR”, so that the land will not become desolate.

Friends there are some things we desire in our lives to happen so bad so fast but guess what God may delay them for our own good. Driving out those inhabitants was a good thing but the consequences would have been bad.

When success comes faster than the maturity to handle it desolation sets in. When success manifests in a life of weak character, disaster explodes. Even in business if more customers come than you have the capacity to cater for, there will be chaos.

God told the Israelites, I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land. God will usually give us gradual opportunities as we build capacity. The human nature is always in a rush, we rush our children through school, we pride ourselves in being rich at a young age. But God wants us to be patient and build the necessary capacity for the breakthrough or success that we desire.

Many dreams are delayed, timelines shifted, goals readjusted but eventually success and an enduring one at that is achieved.

Be patient as God’s timing will never be too late. Delay is not denial; learn your necessary lessons so that you can withstand the winds of adversity that may come with your success. Be well grounded, seek to learn and not just to shine. Seek to serve and not just pursing fame.

Build up in strength, wisdom, knowledge and increase your capacity so that your success can have a strong unshakable base.

Text: Judges 7 v 1-8

Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the well of Harod, so that the camp of the Midianites was on the north side of them by the hill of Moreh in the valley.

And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.

But the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ the same shall not go.” So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.” And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water. Then the Lord said to Gideon, “By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place.” So the people took provisions and their trumpets in their hands. And he sent away all the rest of Israel, every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men. Now the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.

Though GOD was with Gideon, physical and spiritual sensitivity on the part of the soldiers was necessary for victory. God has not given us the spirit of fear; the first batch to be dropped were the fearful soldiers. Fear in your life will hinder your effectiveness spiritually, physically, as a leader or as a team member. A fearful soldier will be an ineffective follower and can jeopardise the success of the army.

God reduced the army from 32,000 to 10,000, then to 300 to prove that self sufficiency is an enemy of faith. God does not share His glory so we must know that our sufficiency is of God. Men with the Joshua and Caleb anointing are needed to advance the work of God. These are men and women that will not be deterred by the enormity of a problem but are propelled by faith and trust in the ability of God

When God wanted to reduce the army from 10,000 to 300, the criterion was the manner in which they drank water. Some soldiers were kneeling to drink whilst some scooped water in their hands and lapped. Those who knelt were dropped because; they lost sight of their environment, their focus and vision was cut off as they bent down; as they knelt their guards were down, they were no longer sensitive.

Kneeling to drink water means you are only focused on the water you are about to drink and not concerned about other things around you. Do you allow issues bothering you to overwhelm you that you do not think of the big picture in your life? Do you use your energy and time on the small, irrelevant, controversial issues rather than being spiritual and focused on the big picture of what the Lord is doing in your life?

Those who scooped water in their hands to drink to were only three hundred and they were the chosen ones. As they stood their eyes were vigilant, their posture was battle ready. As a soldier of Christ you must be ready at all times with an attitude prayer, submission to God, reverence His Spirit.

Taking the water in the hand is a sign of carefulness, avoidance of waste and thoughtfulness; As a Christian soldier you weigh your words, actions and associations in the church and the society at large, you should be the one who is ever prayerful and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

A Christian is a soldier in God’s army, sensitivity is needed for you to be effective in your calling or ministry. Let go of unimportant things, and major on positive things. Let go of rumour, gossip, bitterness, complaining and murmuring. Focus on what is important and choose to align your thoughts with GOD always.

Romans 14 v 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

To be spiritually sensitive, you must learn and know the language of the Holy Spirit, know how He talks to you uniquely. Know and understand how to hear GOD.

Galatians 6 v 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

– To bear someone’s burden, you must have the ability to receive the burden.

What blocks our sensitivity – Galatians 5 v 17- 21  For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[a] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[b] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Others are:

Rebellion, Pride, and Antagonism.

Gal 5 v 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

– Walk in the Spirit

Know you are working for God and not for man.

Lift up the hands of the servant of God in prayers.

Check your life and get rid of filthiness, bitterness, envy, anger immediately as these would hinder your walk and your work for GOD.

Do not join evil company and gang up.

Luke 11 v 23  He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

Luke 11 v 17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.

Isaiah 32 v 6 For the foolish person will speak foolishness,
And his heart will work iniquity:
To practice ungodliness,
To utter error against the Lord,
To keep the hungry unsatisfied,
And he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

A house divided against itself.

Do not use the microphone to say things derogatory to the ministry

John 2:1-11

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

In Cana of Galilee, Jesus performed His first miracle by turning water to wine.

But one thing was outstanding- the OBEDIENCE of the men. That was instrumental to FAITH in God’s word bringing the miraculous.

There were six pots containing 30 gallons each. About 180 gallons of water was fetched by the men. Verse 7 says they filled them up to the BRIM.

What thoughts went on in the minds of these men as they were fetching water and pouring in the pots? Many times our lives are like that particular event. We just go on fetching water and pouring in the pot and it is a WALK OF FAITH.

Fetching that water was a step of faith. There are activities we need to engage in to unlock our miracles and promises.

We fill the water pots of our lives as a sign of obedience to God’s command and TRUST IN HIS WORD. We fill the water pots of our life in anticipation of what God will do.

Some of us may need to fill all the water pots and it may take some time but God will eventually turn the water to wine.

We need to continue in obedience filling our water pots with faith statements, confession of God’s word, love, prayer and patience. Surely our water will be turned to wine.

Water turned to wine; Ordinary becoming extra ordinary, Value coming out of what is common, Power coming from simplicity.

Keep filling those water pots!!

Facebook has a feature which I noticed recently; it shows you throwback pictures of what you posted years back. Sometimes you can see a suggestion to share or re post a picture you took three years back. One of such pictures provoked these thoughts in me and I decided to put pen to paper.

My throw back on Facebook was one of my dear Protegees, my dearly beloved “Daughter in the Lord’’. Such a close bond we shared, such a beautiful relationship we “had”. Then she moved on, changed location but I could sense it was beyond the change in location. She seemed to have out grown our relationship. I tried so hard as I could not come to terms with the fact that she was just not responsive to calls and other effort to keep in touch.

At first it was disturbing to me and I “feared’’ that maybe she had fallen out of faith and did not want to respond to “Mama Pastor’’ but on a closer watch, I could see the sincerity in her person. Then it dawned on me – my protegee has outgrown our relationship, she has moved on. She had to gently but firmly make her stand known, not in strife but in silence, making me know she was okay but that she was in a new reality, and she had to evolve.

Mentor /Protegee relationship is one that is very important especially for the Protegee.

  • A mentor gives you handles so you can climb faster than you would have done on your own.
  • A mentor gives you a lift and helps you to achieve faster than others who do not have the privilege of tutelage.
  • A mentor shows you the right path and points out the pitfalls on your journey to success.

These and many more make a Protegee attached to his/her Mentor. But it must be said that this relationship as sweet and beneficial as it is does have a flip side.

Protegees can fall into error if they begin to go beyond respect and honor to idolize their Mentors because God hates idolatry.

Mentors can be displaced by God himself if he/she resorts to taking the GLORY which always belongs to GOD.

However the issue that struck me as a Mentor is that one should learn to LET PEOPLE go without having a feeling of “ENTITLEMENT” over their lives. Many are in strife today because they feel pained, cheated and angry that someone left their ministry or their tutelage. While people should not be rude or unbecoming in the manner they disengage, we must realize that “NO ONE OWNS ANYONE”. If God has used you to bring up someone do not feel bad, curse, or threaten if the person decides to move on. As a matter of fact you should announce and encourage these whom God has called to step out and let them know you will genuinely release and support them and make good your word.

When a Mentor makes a Protegee feel that he/she owes him for life, then you become a Tormentor rather than a Mentor. Let people go and love them genuinely even if they do not come back to you. It is God that will reward you for your labor of love over His sheep in His kingdom.

Do not curse those who leave your ministry, tutelage or organization. Leave an open door, they may likely come back just to appreciate you and not necessarily coming back to be mentored by you again. Realize the sordid truth, the young shall grow and people sometimes outgrow relationships and are at a loss as to how to handle it.

As a Protegee, if you leave your mentor for any reason, do not bite the hand that fed you. Uphold the person in respect and do not speak evil about the person especially if it is uncalled for. Do not try to justify your exit by bringing down your Mentor, except there was an issue which you should carefully work out prayerfully with a lot of tact and wisdom.

Appreciate your mentor whenever you can without feeling guilty for leaving if God has so ordered your steps.

In Matthew 14:1, the bible says Herod heard of the fame of Jesus. This year your beauty will be heard of globally in Jesus name.

In verse 2 of Matthew 14 we read the account of how Herod was being hunted by the ghost of John the Baptist. When he heard of the fame of Jesus, he said this is John the Baptist risen from the dead. Can I prophesy to someone in this year of Absolute Possibility that no matter the limitations or battles the enemy has planned just as Herod could not kill the message of John the Baptist though he beheaded him, you will be unstoppable in Jesus name.

Herod realized that though he killed the person of John the Baptist he could not kill HIS MESSAGE.

In verse 8 of Matthew 14 we read of Herod’s dilemma at the evil request of Herodia’s daughter: Give me the head of John the Baptist in a charger. Today I decree that any situation asking for your head, the head of marriage, the head of your ministry, will not prosper in Jesus name.

When the head is off, the crown is lost. So it is a year of deep sensitivity. Due to the glorious destiny that you have you need to guard your head. To step out this year your steps must be ordered by God.

Herodias was a patient, unrepentant and relentless enemy. This year we will not fall into the hands of people with evil patience in Jesus name.

Our lot/fate, the lot of our spouses and children will not be determined by the enemy of our souls in Jesus name.

Matthew 14:13 says when Jesus heard of what had happened to John the Baptist he retreated by himself. Whenever we see storms on our way we need to seek God for strength, refire and move on with our assignment. The death of John the Baptist could have discouraged Jesus if he was not focused on his assignment.

In the course of this Jesus performed the miracle of feeding 5,000 men besides men & children.

In Matthew 14:25-31 , Jesus went onto them walking on the sea. Jesus was demonstrating, revealing by action a new dimension of the super natural that was available for the disciples to tap into.

Jesus went unto them, he was reaching out to the disciples, communicating to them something profound. Someone reading this, Jesus has been reaching out to you- giving you visions, ideas, thoughts that seem lofty, seemingly unachievable. No matter what height God is calling you to this year, He has already gone ahead of you. Before Jesus told Peter to step out of the boat he himself had walked on the water. Jesus had already walked on the waters of that big idea or vision He put in your heart so do not be afraid.

The major limitation that will keep you is FEAR. Like the disciples who saw Jesus walking on water became afraid, fear will try to stop you from stepping out to your absolute possibilities.

Matthew 14 Verse 27-28 says Jesus spoke out to them, Be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid. Peter asked for confirmation that if it was Jesus he should ask him to come. Jesus answered him in the affirmative, PETER INDEED WALKED ON WATER.

What made Peter stand out from the other eleven and what made him step out.

1) Absolute trust in Jesus’ command or instruction. Peter did not go at the suggestion of other disciples, he double checked with Jesus and he stepped out. This year trust the WORD of GOD released to you and ACT ON IT.

When Peter stepped out he knew that humanly speaking one would sink when on water, but by experience and his walk with Jesus he knew he had the power to do the miraculous.

Rather than allow the fear of seeing Jesus walking on water and mistaking him for a spirit to make him cower or hide, he cashed in on it and stepped out.

This year recognize your MIRACULOUS moment where you will ride on your fears, storms and weaknesses and translate them into stepping stones to greatness.

If your land lord is throwing you out, it is time to ride on it and build your own house. If you are losing that job it is time to ride on it and start your vision.

You need to STEP OUT.

In verse 29 Jesus said come. The Lord is calling someone here to come step out of that comfort zone, this year 2016 come up higher, come apart and be with God. Do not let fear limit you; remember Jesus has walked on your waters before he told you to step out. The bridges have been built, the boat is waiting for you by the river, the brook is waiting, the ravens have been instructed, the widow has been commanded, do not hold back.

The boisterous sea will not consume you because you will ride over it.

Psalm 90:17, says let the beauty of the Lord God be upon us and establish the works of our hands.

This year we have been beautified to STEP OUT to the world.

  • Step out to Absolute Possibility
  • Step out to Greatness
  • Step out and begin to do that which God has called you to do.

Strength has been released to you. Be courageous. Strength and courage backed up by your faith will make you unstoppable.

This year DARE to be different.

DARE to speak.

Dare to stand up with God and be counted for Christ.

As you step out, go in the might of God, in humility, in holiness & righteousness.

Never neglect the one who called you to step out.

Have a deeper walk with the Holy Spirit, listen out for His voice.

Never ever look at the boisterous storm. Do not allow the devil to distract you from your divine assignment.

No matter the weight of your anointing, promises, power and investment, if you do not step out there will be no manifestation.

Elimelech made a terrible decision in Ruth 1:1-2. He moved his family from Bethlehem to Moab in the time of famine. That decision became a fatal one as the lives of three family members were lost including that of Elimelech. The two sons later died after the got married.

When Naomi assessed her situation, she was able to recognize A CHANGE IN THE SEASON. In Ruth 1:22 the bible says she returned to Bethlehem in the beginning of the barley harvest.

A woman has the capacity and grace to bring restoration where there have been errors or mistakes have been made in the family; it is the woman that usually picks up the pieces and tries to hold the family together.

God made a woman to be a help meet for the man. Where there was a loss, Noami girded up the loins of her life. She did not mind that she will be ridiculed infact she ridiculed herself before anyone could ridicule her by saying Call me “Mara”.

She was a woman who decided to MOVE PAST her pain, she was ready to give her DESTINY a push and no wonder she recovered the LINEAGE relevance and remembrance for her family by arranging for Ruth to marry Boaz.

Due to a woman who decided to “Fix” the mistake made by her husband, Obed was born. Obed was the father of Jesse and Jesse gave birth to David. Our Lord Jesus came from the lineage of David. Jesus is called the ROOT OF JESSE.

Wives, next time you are disappointed because of a poor decision your husband made, especially if it led to a loss, ask God to give you the grace and capacity to bring about restoration.

This is not encouraging men to be slothful or careless. But the journey of a marriage can be so difficult sometimes when you do not have the eyes of your understanding enlightened so as to know why you are called a HELP MEET. Elimelech made a decision that took his own life, so if he had the benefit of hindsight he probably would not have moved.

I pray that the Lord will grant you every grace you need to step in where your husband has a deficiency. May you have the wisdom to mend relationships broken by your husband like Abigail did. You are uniquely designed by God to be a SOLUTION PROVIDER.

As you fix the broken pieces of your marriage, God will give you more grace and open on to you more effectual doors.

Do not be bitter, angry or complain about your husband’s failures or weaknesses. JUST FIX IT IF YOU CAN.

The marriage relationship is a strategic relationship. Unlike other types of family relationships where you do not chose who is related to you in one way or the other, in marriage you determine the one you build a family with.

As it were it is like laying a foundation for other family relationships to spring from.

Your marriage is so important and it is a foundation that can determine how successful you will be; a stable marriage helps in achieving one’s purpose in life as well as shaping the offspring’s for life.

God depends on us to mentor the next generation starting from our children.

Ever before a child can make his/her choice in life, the parents are responsible for making choices on his/her behalf.

I will like to start from the issue of parents as individuals that greatly influence the development of their children and then we will see how the type of marriage they have will also affect their children.

As individuals, our Character types have a great impact on our children. So we need to know what category we belong to. Studies have proved that there are four character groups: Choleric, Sanguine, Phlegmatic and Melancholy. It is important for us to know so we can work on the weaknesses and harness the strengths.

For instance a Choleric Father or Mother should try to be less over bearing so that the children’s self-esteem is not crushed.

A Melancholic Father may need to be more outspoken especially when dealing with children who tend to be hyper active. Melancholies tend to withdraw to their shell but a parent cannot do this all the time and be successful.

When it comes to stable marital relationships, it is interesting to note the following:

  1. Man is like a digital being. It is as though the human mind or the soul has the characteristics of a technological gadget.

There are messages you pass across to someone without speaking a word.

The power of intuition is so great yet it cannot be explained.

What am I trying to say; As parents our non- verbal communication as well as messages we transmit via human wifi or Bluetooth all play a part in shaping our children.

2. Children learn by example. In Titus 2 v 3-4 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

We see here that women are natural teachers. You teach using different training tools

  • Sharing experiences
  • Advising
  • Counseling
  • Mentoring
  • By your mannerisms alone you are teaching your children something.

Your attitude, emotions and reactions are imbibed by your children. Children who come from homes where the parents have a fairly stable relationship are usually more settled in life.

3. Parents should speak with one voice.

4. Stability in marriage

  • Reaffirms the child and boosts his self confidence
  • If there is instability, the children can become anxious and their academic performance may fall, begin to bed wet, or go into vices such as drinking, smoking or other things in order to deal with their emotions.
  • Where there is abuse in a marriage, the child will tend to be abusive when he or she grows up
  • When parents fight or disagree openly in front of the children, it makes the children feel vulnerable, insecure or guilty, thinking they might have caused the issue of disagreement.

What we see often are individual parents doing their best for their children. Beyond this we need to present a united front so that our children will feel secure.

  • As much as possible work on your relationship and avoid outbursts in front of the children.
  • Do not report your husband or wife to your children
  • Do not expose the weaknesses of your spouse to the children in order to gain their support.
  • Show open affection to your spouse; it is a good lesson for the children to learn
  • Children should not know who owns what money in the family
  • Each parent has something to offer for balance to exist in their children’s lives.

*Father figure is important as well as a mothers love.

  • Love should be balanced with discipline.
  • Parents should try to fulfill their responsibility of time and care and not make up with gifts.

Dysfunctional marriages make children have bad attitudes, bad conduct or seek attention through negative behavior. They may also become overly fearful.

Do not pursue money or ambition, to the detriment of your family.

Divorced or separated parents need to have a female or male figure that will fill the gap.

Nutrition is also important for healthy growth of children.

***Your labor of love over your family will be rewarded in Jesus name. God bless you
